A Cozy, Winter Mini Session | Lauren, Brian, and Olive

There’s something so magical about winter photography sessions—the crisp air, the cozy layers, and nature’s moody backdrop. But what makes a session truly special isn’t just the season; it’s the people (and pups) in front of my lens.

Lauren, Brian, and their sweet dog Olive are one of those families that make my job an absolute joy. I’ve had the honor of capturing so many chapters of their love story. From their proposal to their engagement, their wedding, and now to this heartfelt winter, mini session. Watching their journey unfold through my camera has been such a gift, and every time we meet for another session, it feels like catching up with old friends.

Embracing The Chilly Vibes

For this shoot, we embraced the winter chill with warm outfits, playful snuggles, and, of course, Olive stealing the show at every opportunity. There’s something about the way these two (well, three!) interact that just makes my heart melt. Whether it’s the way Brian makes Lauren laugh, or how Olive insists on being the center of attention (rightfully so, of course). Their love is effortless, and it shines through in every frame.

But no session is complete without a little bit of goofiness! Towards the end, we wrapped things up with some delightfully awkward photos—because why not? I always say that ending a session with a few goofy, exaggeratedly stiff poses is the best way to let loose and embrace the fun of it all. Those moments, the ones that make you laugh until your stomach hurts, are just as important as the perfectly posed shots.
